Breithorn

Breithorn, Blatten, Westlich Raron, Wallis, 3919, Švicarska

The Breithorn, peaking at 4,164 meters, is a mountain in the Pennine Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Known for its “broad horn” shape, it lies near the iconic Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. The Breithorn is notable for being one of the most accessible 4,000-meter peaks in the Alps, thanks to the Klein Matterhorn cable car that provides a high-altitude starting point for climbers.

Despite its relative ease of access, the Breithorn challenges climbers with a glacial plateau and a steep snow slope near its summit. It offers more demanding routes for experienced climbers, such as the half traverse of its crest. First ascended in 1813, the Breithorn remains a popular climb due to its accessibility and striking panoramic views.
